Structured Children’s House Classroom Assistant (Full-Time)
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly organized, reliable, and proactive Classroom Assistant for our Children’s House classroom (ages 3–6). You will work directly alongside our Executive Director and Lead Teacher, Kristin, to maintain classroom flow, manage logistics, and protect the peaceful integrity of the environment.
The ideal candidate has a strong natural baseline for cleanliness, time management, and environmental order. If you love organizing closets, labeling resources, keeping a space immaculate, and have a calm heart for children, this is your place.
Key Responsibilities:
- Protecting the Environment: Ensure the physical space remains immaculate, orderly, and beautiful throughout the day. Responsibilities include daily sweeping, sanitizing, organizing shelf materials, and executing weekly deep-cleaning procedures.
- Classroom Management Support: Assist the Lead Teacher in maintaining a calm, focused classroom flow. Step in seamlessly to anchor the room or redirect a child using gentle, positive behavioral guidelines.
- Administrative & Safety Logistics: Support the Lead Guide with minor administrative data, supervising classroom transitions, outdoor play, and lunch/nap setups. Act as a reliable backup to step into daily administrative needs if the Guide must briefly address an executive emergency.
- Material Care & Responsibility: Treat all premium school materials and classroom assets with deep care and respect, ensuring children do the same to prevent structural wear and tear.
- Adherence to Professional Policy: Maintain flawless professional boundaries, arriving promptly, adhering strictly to the school’s dress code, labeling personal items, and respecting the proper order of internal communication.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (college courses in early childhood education or high school career pathways are highly welcome).
- A natural obsession with environmental order, cleanliness, and structural organization.
- A warm, patient, and mature demeanor under pressure.
- Ability to take direction gracefully while proactively noticing what needs to be cleaned or put away before being asked.
- Fluency in English is required; conversational Spanish or a bilingual background is a significant advantage.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly compensation competitive with premium child care frameworks in Waukesha County.
- Comprehensive onboarding and structured training regarding Montessori assistant protocols and worflows.
Montessori Bridge Class Lead Teacher (Part-Time or Full-Time)
Role Overview
We are seeking a warm, nurturing, and operationally structured Lead Teacher for our “Bridge” Classroom. This unique environment serves children ages 2.5 to 4.5 who are transitioning into the Montessori world, developing social-emotional frameworks, and mastering toilet training. This role is ideal for an educator who believes that “work is the answer” and thrives in building a calm, deeply respectful, and communicative atmosphere rather than an exclusionary, lecture-based model.
We are open to candidates seeking either Full-Time (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM) or Part-Time (7:00 AM – 1:00 PM) schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pedagogical Leadership: Prepare and maintain a meticulous, beautiful, and complete Montessori environment tailored to the developmental needs of the 2.5–4.5 age group.
- Observation & Record Keeping: Observe, track, and log daily student progress utilizing digital and narrative tools to support structural child development.
- Toilet Learning Support: Graciously guide and support young children through the toilet training process as a fundamental step toward practical life independence.
- Classroom Operations & Maintenance: Maintain strict classroom hygiene, beauty, and organization. This includes sharing daily sweeping, wiping, and physical care of the materials and classroom ecosystem (including classroom pets) alongside your assistant.
- Professional Collaboration: Partner effectively with classroom assistants, allowing them to collaborate dynamically in small activities (e.g., language extensions) without territorial boundaries. Maintain transparent communication following the school’s leadership hierarchy.
Qualifications:
- A formal Montessori Credential (0-3 or 3-6) from a recognized training center (AMS, AMI, or MACTE approved).
- Proven classroom management skills grounded in grace, courtesy, and a non-punitive approach (experience with restorative justice practices a plus).
- A warm, nurturing demeanor paired with high professional standards and strong internal accountability.
- Bilingual capabilities (Spanish/English) are highly preferred but not strictly mandatory if paired with a strong cultural and structural fit.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $30,000 – $35,000 annually (pro-rated if part-time), scaling based on experience and bilingual immersion capabilities.
- Predictable schedule in a screen-free, highly supportive environment surrounded by nature.
