Pre-Primary

Pre-Primary
The pre-primary program is set to serve children ages 2.5 to approximately 3 that are still building their toilet training skills and/or have not yet been in a school setting. Half day and whole day options are available to meet the child's readiness.
2.5 – 3.5 Years: 8:30 – 12:00pm, extended day and wrap around care available
The guides in our primary classroom are trained and expertly prepared to put Maria Montessori’s methods and philosophies into practice. Through a deep understanding of human development, the child is exposed to experiences in all areas through hands-on experiences that activate their senses. The ratio of students to each teacher is smaller in this classroom environment so children have additional attention to meet their growing independent self-care needs.
When a child first begins in the pre-primary classroom, the main focus is to introduce them to a peer social setting in which they can grow the ability to be independent, have confidence in themselves, extend their focus time, and learn to be part of a peaceful community that shows respect for one another. Academics include four major areas of learning; practical life, sensorial, math, and language. Cultural lessons are also a major component at Maravilla Montessori and include daily Spanish lessons, detailed fine arts practice, science demonstrations, and guest musician performances.
